We have a very straight forward idea about pub quizzes – that learning doesn’t have to be boring, and that terrible dad jokes and puns are applicable all the time.

Dux Nuts started as a small hobby in one venue next to the University of WA. Our keep it simple approach proved to be a hit, with good old fashioned trivia fun. As popularity grew, so too did our venue list. We now boast one of the biggest availability of quiz night’s across Western Australia and have no intention of slowing down.

Whether you need an entertaining night to drive patrons to your venue, or need to raise funds for a worthy cause, Dux Nuts has you covered for all your Trivia needs. For our players, we offer a simple model, where questions aren’t too complicated and everyone can play (doesn’t mean it’s easy though!).

Perth’s least known quiz host . Accidentally stumbling into the trivia host game over a decade ago, Shane has steered the ship to grow Dux Nuts from a casual hobby, into the biggest Trivia company in Western Australia.

If you ever catch a typo that’s slipped through into a show, it’s likely because of Shane’s type fast, check later approach. If your team was pinged for using a phone or having too many people, again you can blame Shane.

When he’s not in the office, he’s now reviewing content for trivia shows, engaging with venues, co-ordinating corporate/private functions, and supporting the team on the ground to successfully entertain crowds.

“What started off as a simple dream – a man with a microphone and a crowd half listening to his sultry voice asking the hard questions about Celine Dion, and all the Uranus questions that you could poke a stick at, has blossomed into not even being able to host anymore – but focuses most of his attentions on rosters, new venues, and why all of his staff are constantly needing time off.

Catch him working in the background now in the office, tearing his hair out as to why there are so many people booked off for next week.

All she asks is that you laugh at her jokes (or at her as long as you’re laughing). Her likes include Marvel / DC, and road trips, her dislikes include not knowing the answer to quiz questions, people who don’t indicate and movies where people die…

Parker may be plain on the eyes, and he is, but it will feel like you have Haemorrhoids when he starts hosting because, you’ll be on the edge of your seat

If you’re looking for a quiz master who is always down for a laugh, look no further! Poppy is a bubbly and friendly host who has a passion for performing.

The face of quizzing in Morley. Find Gee regularly at Varsity Morley, and at a variety of venues each week.

Jason had been attending Dux Nuts for 6 years before he decided to test himself on the other side of the mic. A lifelong nerd who spends most of his free time gaming, watching movies & hanging out with his dogs.

Elijah hosts quizzes because he’s bad at general knowledge and doesn’t want to feel left out. He might not have any idea about the latest Hollywood scandal, but if you’re nice to him, he’ll probably throw some hints your way.

When Declan isn’t quiz hosting he’s likely brushing up on something pop culture related, always ready to give you a fun fact about any topic. If you’re really nice to him, he’ll likely give you a hint or two.

Despite hosting for over two years, she’s barely retained any general knowledge so chances are she’s just as lost as you are.

You’ll find her behind the scenes and stopping by quizzes every now and then to say hi!

Sam is passionate about his trivia, having been a quiz player before being promoted to host. When he’s not hosting you’ll probably find him climbing colourful plastic rocks or playing bass (the superior instrument)!

Looking for a host who’s as quirky and colourful as the questions they’re asking? Meet Chloe, the sassy, blue-haired quiz master who’s here to “make your brain hurt” in the best way possible! Or at least that’s what we think her ex-boyfriends meant when they said that about her.

A familiar face who just can’t stay away, she’s been part of the team for years and keeps coming back for more trivia fun. As a German who somehow ended up with a sense of humor, she brings not only banter but terrible dance moves during music round.

Mel nerds out on pop culture, music and loves the sound of her own voice so quiz hosting was a natural fit. In her down time she enjoys burlesque, comedy, cooking and hanging with her cat Meatball.

Liam writes quizzes because he can’t host. Physically, because he lives in Melbourne but mostly because of his terrible personality and presentation style. Oh well! He can write!

Ness discovered her love for pub quizzes while living in London, but thinks she is probably better at hosting a quiz than playing in one. Maybe it’s true what they say – if you can’t beat ’em, join ’em! Catch her grooving along to the music round songs at our northern venues.

If you’ve got Lachie as your quiz host, stop worrying. Unless you’re planning on cheating – he’ll catch you no matter how ingenious your caper is. When Lachie’s not hosting your pub quiz, he’s madly writing an assignment that’s due tomorrow or binging the latest and greatest TV show.

Kaitlyn is Canadian, NOT American. She knows everything about ice hockey (the ONLY hockey) as long as you only ask her about her team, the Edmonton Oilers.

Couldn’t beat them so I joined them… Self-proclaimed professional yapper turned quiz host!

Never wanting others to feel bad, Abbie has made sure to have a complete lack of general knowledge, and an inability to stop talking, that will make you leave every quiz night feeling like a genius!

Hired to tick the “token ginger” box. He’s hilarious, a claim which is still awaiting management confirmation and approval.

Meet Kaitlin: Pub quiz maestro and Dungeons & Dragons enthusiast, guiding adventures with an espresso martini in hand – a perfect blend of trivia, fantasy, and coffee-infused hosting magic!

Crazy Cat Lady? Maybe. But what’s life without a little crazy?

You can find Bek in Katanning. When she’s not hosting quizzes at Premier Mill, you might catch her on stage with the local dramatic society. If you don’t see her around, she’s probably at home with her 5 cats.

With a sharp sense of humour and a knack for finding the funny side of life, Mira keeps those around her entertained. Fair warning though: her impressive collection of bad jokes has been known to induce eye-rolls and dad-level cringing

He has a Diploma in Sound Production and has done a decent amount of traveling in his time. Still, Jemay will never get a geography question right and will most certainly botch the music round. There’s a reason why he’s on the mic and not on your team!

Emergency travel barber, ritualistic shaman, amateur sommelier. What can’t Lachlan do? Answer: win a quiz night. That’s why he’s decided to host them instead.

“Accountant by day and quizmaster by night. When he’s not knee-deep in debits and credits, you’ll find Ray at quiz night attempting to land his jokes and gaslighting himself into believing that the audience is, in fact, laughing with him.

Although one can forgive him for not pursuing a career in stand-up, so your local quizmaster he shall be.

Scientist, dog enthusiast, and devoted Vanderpump Rules fan. Biggest accomplishment to date: 2nd place in a Dolly Parton cake decorating contest.

A big sports guy in every sense of the word. Don’t let the photo fool you either, if he isn’t wearing a hat it’s not actually him.

If you like piña coladas and getting caught in the rain, then you’ll probably get along with Aidan (just don’t try to cheat!)

Possibly the most outgoing introvert you’ll ever meet. Tracy is a colour-coordinating, animal-loving, crafty human who believes life’s too short for dull moments. Known for her quick wit and warm humour, she finds joy in creating, connecting, and adding a little sparkle to the everyday.

When Hattie, the world’s greatest and most humble quiz master, left quiz mastering, Lee and Shane made it their life’s mission to get her back. Well, after a year of non stop pestering and bargaining, she’s back, and somehow even greater! Catch her during the week at Varsity Nedlands and Brewdog.

Jess became a host to better educate herself. Turns out getting handed the answers and pretending like she knew them is really working wonders for her self-esteem! Jess always loves a yap, is happy to offer a hint (occasionally they’re actually helpful!), and you’ll likely spot her dancing in the audio round (likely to distract from her lack of musical knowledge).

Eliza’s special subjects include the human skeleton and the Matildas’ 2023 World Cup run. She should probably be working on her uni assignments but instead is working hard studying tonight’s quiz questions.

Felicity is a fun, bubbly host, who loves a chat and joke around. After little success on her on quiz team, she found she was better at confusing people with asking questions than answering herself!

I own many ridiculous hats and love me any excuse to dress up. Especially when picking people up from the airport. It’s almost impossible to embarrass myself. I don’t care if people are laughing at me or with me.

Current holder of the Dux Nuts “Best Dressed” title and will not be giving it up willingly.

Hi, I’m Leah — quiz host, Sport Business student and full-time Fremantle Dockers supporter (a role that requires an impressive amount of resilience).
I’m passionate about all things AFL, love spending my spare time at the beach or getting lost in a good book, and generally enjoy anything involving sport, competition and a bit of banter.

I’m here to make sure you have a great night, learn something new, and potentially question some of your friendships when the answers start getting competitive.

When it comes to horribly mispronouncing words, Ben is the best in the business.

After a long period as a player with limited success, he became a host so now he would at least be paid for not winning instead. During the quiz, he loves to see teams using clever word play in their names. Just make sure he doesn’t see any teapots.

A friendly face, but if he sees you on your phone, he will come for you.

Paul is a self professed nerd. He enjoys Doctor Who, Avatar (airbender not the blue people) and boardgames. Find him at venues north of the river and maybe will give you a cryptic quiz hint.

A teacher by day, Brad (Temu James Acaster) hosts quizzes to enjoy the novelty of actually being listened to. Ask him for obscure history and politics facts.

Some people search for meaning their whole lives, Toby has already found his calling in Puns, Dad Jokes and keeping The Dab alive and fresh. Oh and he lifts heavy rocks for fun because everyone needs a hobby.

When Abbie isn’t hosting up a storm, they’re on set working in Perth’s film industry. Just don’t leave Abbie in charge of the music round or there’s a good chance you’ll hear the same song 12 times!

Taylor enjoys hosting quizzes because she likes to feel like the smartest person in the room with all the answers. Just don’t ask her for help on the music round because she has got no idea.
When she isn’t quizzing, she enjoys meeting dogs, patting dogs and pointing out cool dogs from the car as she drives past them on a walk.
